The President Parade on the occasion of the commissioning of the officer cadets of 82 BMA Long Course was held at Bangladesh Military Academy (BMA), Bhatiary, Chattogram on 8 June 2022. Lieutenant General (Pilot) Salem Hamad Al-Aqeel Al-Nabet, Chief of Staff, Qatar Armed Forces reviewed the smartly turned out contingent and took the salute of the colourful parade as the Chief Guest. The Chief Guest handed over the most prestigious ‘Sword of Honour’ for the all-round performance and the ‘Chief of Army Staff (CAS) Gold Medal’ for the best performance in military subjects to the award winning cadet, Battalion Senior Under Officer Tanvir Rahim.
The Cadets formally took oath in the parade in presence of the respected Chief Guest. After the parade, the Piping Ceremony took place, and the commissioning cadets were adorned with the badges of rank by the Chief Guest, other officials and respective guardians.
A total of 196 Officer Cadets have formally obtained commission from Bangladesh Military Academy after completion of three years of rigorous military training. It is to be mentioned that among them 7 (seven) are Palestinian Cadets and 1 (one) is Sri Lankan who will join the army of their respective countries. Out of 188 cadets who have been commissioned in Bangladesh Army, 172 cadets are male and 16 are female cadets.
The General Officer Commanding, Army Training and Doctrine Command, Lieutenant General S M Matiur Rahman, OSP, SUP, afwc, psc, General Officer Commanding, 24 Infantry Division and Area Commander, Chattogram Area, Major General Md Saiful Abedin, BSP, SGP, ndc, psc and Commandant, Bangladesh Military Academy, Major General S M Kamrul Hassan, ndc, hdmc, psc received the Chief Guest on his arrival at the BMA Parade Ground.
The spectacular and colourful parade was witnessed by the high ranking military and other senior government officials, local elites and guardians of the newly commissioned officers.
